Florence Pugh Just Made ‘Robot Eyeliner’ a Thing
When is eyeliner not basic? When Florence Pugh sets foot on the red carpet. In the past, the star has experimented with ’60s mod makeup, the Audrey Hepburn aesthetic, and even going mascara-free, but her most recent daring look stretched the cat eye to the limit.
The Futuristic Twist
At last night’s star-studded premiere of Dune: Part Two in New York, Pugh’s longtime makeup artist Alex Babsky created a futuristic twist on negative-space eyeliner using Mam Eye Jewelry Makeup in Sterling Silver. Thick strokes of chrome and an extra-large wing that touched the outer corner of her eyebrow made for a bold statement.
The Look
Another graphic silver line floated beneath Pugh’s lower lashes, while her upper lash line was defined by a super-thin stroke of black eyeliner and copious amounts of black mascara. The style of eyeliner, dubbed FutureFlo, served up robot chic and ’60s vibes.
Complete the Look
Pugh paired the striking eyeliner look with a soft peach flush on the cheeks and lips, heavily defined brows, and platinum blonde hair styled in an intricate looped ponytail. Her backless gray plissé halter gown by Maison Valentino added to the overall futuristic glam.
The Influence
The Dune: Part Two promotional tour has showcased iconic beauty looks, with Florence Pugh leading the way in setting trends. The metallic makeup looks seen on the autumn-winter 2024 catwalks have further solidified the appeal of bold and futuristic makeup choices.
Either way, Florence Pugh has just convinced us that graphic silver eye makeup is the way to go.
