Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo Brought the Wicked Press Tour to the 2024 Oscars
Consummate professionals that they are, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo appear to have brought their Wicked press tour to the 2024 Oscars red carpet by dressing exactly like their characters, Glinda and Elphaba.
Ariana Grande’s Look
For her part, Grande brought major Good Witch energy in a custom, ruffled, pink confection of a dress by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture. The body of the dress is strapless and extremely figure-hugging, and is adorned with a voluminous train and two enormously puffed sleeves for which the word “generous” is a serious understatement. She kept the girly vibes going with a pink jewel pendant necklace and matching earrings and a curly blonde ponytail.
Cynthia Erivo’s Look
Erivo, meanwhile, didn’t go so far as actually painting her skin green, but she definitely did the Emerald City justice in Louis Vuitton. The Broadway legend’s leather frock perfectly skimmed her curves and featured a daringly low-cut sweetheart neckline showing off her heart tattoos. The dress was given an extra dose of oomph with her cape-like puffed sleeves and ruffled train. In lieu of a necklace, Erivo opted to go extra hard on the diamond cocktail rings, emerald bangles, and statement earrings. She finished with a seriously long, green French mani.
Promoting the Wicked Movie
The first Wicked movie doesn’t actually premiere until November 27, but Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo have clearly decided that it’s never too early to start promoting.
